Themes and customization

Application themes

The central theme engine applies built-in presets such as Voktty Default, Xcode, Claude, Kanagawa, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, Rosé Pine, Everforest, Nord, Gruvbox, Dracula, Solarized, Tide, Sage and Caffeine. Theme changes update the terminal palette and application surfaces together.

Custom themes

Create, import and export custom themes from Settings. A custom theme is validated before it reaches the theme engine. Invalid colors, missing required tokens and unsupported values are rejected rather than partially applied.

Background images are optional. The surface layer controls opacity and blur while keeping terminal panes on a stable background so text rendering remains readable.

Editor themes

Editor themes are independent from application themes. Choose auto to follow the active theme's light or dark editor pairing, or select a fixed editor theme. This separation means a code editor can keep its preferred syntax palette while the application chrome changes.

Font sizes

Terminal and editor font sizes are stored separately. Changing editor text size does not alter terminal density. View zoom changes the application surface and can be reset from the command palette.

Language

Voktty ships translations for English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian. The translation schema is checked against the English source so missing keys fail the TypeScript check.

Spaces

Use spaces for separate projects or task contexts. A space remembers its project root, environment, color and tabs. It is useful for keeping a production checkout and a feature checkout available without mixing terminal history or editor tabs.
