Files, Markdown and preview¶
Explorer¶
The explorer is a Rust-backed file tree with fuzzy search, keyboard navigation, inline rename, context actions and live filesystem updates. It supports Windows paths with either separator and presents canonical forward-slash paths to the frontend.
Material-style file and folder icons are resolved locally from the icon registry. Hidden files can be toggled from the command palette or Ctrl+Shift+. / Cmd+Shift+..
Dragging a file from the explorer into a terminal inserts a shell-safe quoted path. Dragging a file into the AI composer creates an attachment rather than copying its contents into the text field.
Search¶
Use Ctrl+Shift+F or Cmd+Shift+F for workspace content search. Fuzzy file search and content grep run through Rust helpers powered by the ignore and grep-* crates, which respect repository ignore behavior and keep large searches out of the webview.
Markdown¶
Markdown editing uses GitHub Flavored Markdown with fenced-code highlighting, clickable URLs and task checkboxes. A Markdown file can be opened in both source and rendered views. Images, video, audio and PDF documents can be opened in preview tabs when the file type is supported.
Web preview¶
The preview module watches terminal output for local development-server URLs and offers to open them in a preview tab. External URLs use a native child webview rather than embedding arbitrary navigation inside the main React surface.
Preview tabs remain mounted while hidden. Stop the underlying development server from its terminal when the preview is no longer needed.
